Four centre-backs who Bradford City could look to sign this January

3. Lloyd Jones

The 22-year-old defender is currently contracted to Liverpool and as he’s available to go out to a club on loan during January, Bradford City could use with an emerging young talent in their defence.

Jones has already gained Football League experience with Cheltenham Town, Accrington Stanley, Blackpool and Swindon Town and with the defender most recently being part of a struggling League One side, he would relish the opportunity to be part of a potential promotion push.

It’s been noted before that one of Bradford City owner Edin Rahic’s plans is to create a ‘Northern Belt‘ and he wants access to good academies; Liverpool could be one and Jones could well be Bradford’s man.

There were rumours the defender could have been set to go to Championship Preston in January according to the Daily Mirror. The article did say though that a number of League One teams were rumoured to be interested in the defender, should the deal not go through. No doubt give Bradford’s defensive record, he would be a valuable acquisiton for a strong League One side with the article suggesting he was valued at around £250,000.
