European heavyweights join race for Fulham starlet

European giants PSG have entered the race to sign Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The 17-year-old has been watched by a number of top-flight European sides, with Tottenham trying to sign the young prospect last summer while Manchester United have been linked with him this January.

However Sessegnon blew away rumours of a big move from Craven Cottage as he opted to sign a new contract with the Whites to try and win promotion to the Premier League.

However his form this season has seen interest become even greater, with Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Tottenham all being interested.

PSG hold the advantage of being able to offer more money than the other European giants, however, while the fact that Sessegnon also speaks French could sway his decision.

Having made a name for himself as a left-back, the Daily Mirror reckons that the 17-year-old has the potentital to emulate Gareth Bale and play in a more advanced attacking role.

Sessegnon became the youngest ever goalscorer in England’s second-tier last season, however the Sky Bet Championship side will be keen to retain the youngster’s services for at least another season as they push for promotion to England’s top-flight, however his ability to score goals – including a brace against Ipswich Town in their 4-1 win over the Tractor Boys three days ago – will only see interest rise further as he becomes more and more likely to be one of England’s next greatest talents to emerge.
