Sky Bet Championship promotion hopefuls Cardiff City are expected to extend the loan deal of Blackburn Rovers winger Liam Feeney until the end of the season according to the Lancashire Telegraph.
The 30-year-old Hammersmith born wideman has seen his loan spell with The Bluebirds expire after an impressive first half of the season at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock is not thought to have held talks with Blackburn Rovers over extending the player’s loan deal just yet however it has been reported that Feeney is set to remain in South Wales for the remainder of the season and he is not expected to report back at Ewood Park.
The midfielder started his career in non-league with both Hayes and Salisbury City before joining to AFC Bournemouth where he made 121 appearances and scored 14 goals. A move to Millwall followed before the player joined Bolton Wanderers.
Feeney signed for Blackburn Rovers in summer 2016 for the second time in his career after enjoying a previous loan spell with the Lancashire club while at Millwall. The winger has made 50 appearances for Rovers in which he has netted two goals.
Since joining Cardiff City on loan in August, Feeney has gone on to feature heavily for The Bluebirds and manager Neil Warnock has made it clear that the player has a key role to play for his side during the second half of the season.
