Charlton Athletic, Addicks boss has four new players ready to sign on at The Valley

Addicks boss has four new players ready to sign on at The Valley

Charlton Athletic manager Karl Robinson has admitted that four of his January transfer targets are ready to sign on at The Valley according to News Shopper.

The Addicks are winless in eight matches in the league and the South East Londoners have fallen behind in the race for promotion.

Manager Robinson is believed to want to make six new additions to his squad in the current transfer window with four potential new signings already lined-up. Any deals are said to be doubtful unless a long-awaited takeover of the club can be completed this month.

Fans have long wanted to see an end to Belgian owner Roland Duchatelet’s disastrous reign at The Valley. Takeover talks are believed to be ongoing with interested parties however no deal has yet been agreed.

Should a takeover deal for the club not be forthcoming it is unlikely that Athletic boss Robinson will be given transfer funds. Any new additions are likely to have to be made either on loan deals or on non-contract terms.

Charlton Athletic are four points adrift of the Sky Bet League One Play-Off places while their goal difference is worse than all of the sides above them in the table. The Addicks face a crucial run of fixtures over the next couple of weeks with Robinson’s men set to face strugglers Oldham Athletic, Bury and Walsall.
