Northampton Town have taken former Nottingham Forest full-back Hildeberto Pereira on loan from Leiga Warsaw.
Pereira spent the 2016/2017 on loan at SkyBet Championship club Nottingham Forest and made 22 appearances for the Reds scoring twice, including a spectacular solo goal against Birmingham City.
The Benfica academy product would leave his home country and move to 12 time Polish champions Leiga Warsaw.
The flying full-back has only made three appearances for the Polish outfit this season and joins up with Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink’s side sat in 22nd place in SkyBet League One.
Speaking to the club website, Hasselbaink was delighted to confirm the signing as he looks to claw the Cobblers to safety:
“I have come up against Hildeberto a number of times and have been very impressed. I think he will be a big asset to us”
“He is full of pace and energy, he can take players on and he will offer us natural width, creativity and a spark.
“He is lively, unpredictable and he can have the fans on the edge of their seats and I am looking forward to working with him.
“He has the potential to be a real crowd favourite and I am very excited to be able to welcome him to Sixfields.”
Hildeberto also spoke to the club website, the former Forest man believes he is ready to play as soon as possible and in whatever position his manager would like:
“I can play on either of the wings but I also used to play as a striker until I was 19. I can also play as a right back in a 3-5-2 when I can attack.
“Back at Forest I played a few times as a central midfielder but in a more offensive role. I can play wherever the manager wants me to play.
“I’m ready to play Saturday if the manager wants to give me some minutes. I’m ready to help the team get back to winning ways.”
