Leeds friendly called off as opposition “didn’t turn up”.

If Leeds United’s 16-0 hammering of Italian minnows FC Gherdeina wasn’t enough, their pre-season tour has just taken another comical turn.

A scheduled match on Sunday evening against Romanian first division side FC Viitorul Constanta promised to be slightly tougher opposition for Dave Hockaday’s men, giving fans more an insight into their clubs state of affairs on the pitch. In one of the most bizarre reasons behind a postponement in an FL clubs recent history, it would seem that Constanta never bothered to show up.

Whilst details behind their reasoning are still hazy, we recommend a follow for the guys at @LeedsUnitedITA who will keep you updated on all the shenanigans over Italy.

For those fans lucky enough to have travelled to the match, they will now get to see a Leeds United vs Leeds United clash. We know who we’d put our money on.
