Birmingham City favourite keen for St Andrews stay despite expected interest

Birmingham City striker Che Adams has no interest in leaving St Andrews during the current transfer window and is keen to do his best for the club according to reports on the Blues’ official website.

The 21-year-old Leicester born goal machine is arguably the club’s greatest asset after impressing during his first 18 months at St Andrews.

Adams was the subject of transfer interest from Birmingham City’s Sky Bet Championship rivals Fulham during the summer transfer window while Derby County were also rumoured to be interested in the player. Despite the increasing transfer speculation, Adams remained loyal to his club and signed a new five-year improved-terms deal at St Andrews in September.

Further transfer interest could surround the youngster during the current transfer window but Adams has confirmed that he does not want to leave the Blues and is hoping to help his club to secure Sky Bet Championship safety.

Adams has been out of action for the past month with a hamstring injury but the player could soon be available again with the home fixture against Derby County on Saturday 13 January being a possible date to pencil in his comeback. Birmingham City have collected just four points from five matches without the youngster’s services.

The striker has made 56 appearancs for the Blues, scoring 12 goals since he moved to St Andrews from Sheffield United in August 2016.
