Sheffield Wednesday’s hopes of a more prosperous 2018 have taken a bitter blow with The Owls falling to a truly embarrassing 3-0 Sky Bet Championship defeat to struggling Burton Albion at Hillsborough.

Brewers frontman Lucas Akins saw an early penalty kick saved before Tom Flanagan, Lloyd Dyer and Tom Naylor all found the back of the net on a shameful afternoon for the home side.

The latest defeat for the managerless Owls sees the club slide closer to the relegation zone and after the match, many disgruntled fans took to Twitter to give their views on their side’s latest setback.
