SkyBet League Two leaders Luton Town travel to Vale Park to face Neil Aspin’s side who are looking to ease their relegation threats.
Luton currently sit top of the pile, four points ahead of Notts County and 11 points ahead of 4th placed Wycombe Wanderers. Their opponents sit in 17th place, eight points above the two sides currently in the relegation zone.
Vale are in good form for a side in the bottom half, having collected seven points from their last three games. Their only dropped points coming away to play-off hopefuls Colchester United. Victories over Carlisle United and Coventry have rifled Aspin’s side up the table.
A 1-0 win at the expense of Coventry with a goal from Nathan Smith secured all the points for the Valiants.
Luton come into the clash in sensational form, having scored nine goals in their last three games. Back to back 2-0 victories against Forest Green Rovers and Grimsby Town were followed up by a ruthless 5-0 hammering of Swindon Town.
New signing James Collins started the scoring which was followed by goals for Danny Hylton, Harry Cornick and Elliot Lee. Swindon defender Matty Taylor also put through his own net, setting Luton a new record for a win on Boxing Day.
The two sides met back in September with the Hatters coming away with all three points in a comfortable 2-0 win at Kenilworth Road.
On loan midfielder Ben Whitfield put through his own net before half time before Jack Stacey wrapped up the points for Luton.
