Highly rated young forward returns to The Valley

Highly rated young Charlton Athletic forward Josh Umerah has returned to the club early from his loan spell with Sky Bet League Two outfit Wycombe Wanderers according to News Shopper.

The 20-year-old Catford born hotshot is a product of The Addicks’ academy system and big things are expected from the youngster in the coming years.

Umerah joined Wycombe Wanderers on loan in August on a loan deal until the middle of next month however it has now been reported that the player is back with his parent club as he continues to recover from an ankle injury which has sidelined him for almost three months.

The striker was a first team regular during his time with The Chairboys and scored goals in wins over Barnet and Cambridge United prior to his injury. Umerah’s ankle problem was a real blow to the player with him just beginning to find the back of the net at senior level.

Umerah has been a regular scorer for Charlton Athletic at Under-18 and Development Squad levels in the past but the player has not scored in any of his three substitute outings for the club. The player’s return to The Valley could allow him to show Addicks boss Karl Robinson just what he can do and the striker will be hoping to play some kind of role in the first team squad during the second half of the season.
