QPR could use Connor Washington in deal to sign prolific Peterborough United striker

QPR could be willing to use their striker Conor Washington in a deal to try and sign Peterborough United’s Jack Marriott, as per a report by Get West London.

Marriott is on red-hot form for Peterborough this season and has scored 18 goals so far. He has been linked with a move away from the League One club in January.

Clubs like Aston Villa, Sunderland and QPR have been linked with him. Millwall have also been credited with an interest but could be put off by his £2.5 million price tag.

It is QPR who look to be the most keen on Marriott at this moment in time. They could use their striker Conor Washington as part of the deal which would see the Northern Ireland international return to Peterborough.

Washington joined QPR in January 2016 from the Posh after he scored 15 goals for them before January. However, he did not score for them last season and has only scored 6 this season. He is a proven goal scorer in League One though and Peterborough could be persuaded to sell Marriott if they got Washington in return.

Marriott’s goals have helped the Posh get to 7th in the league. They are only 1 point off the Play-Offs. The 23 year-old joined them in the summer from League Two side Luton Town. He has previously played for Ipswich Town and has had numerous loan spells at clubs like Woking and Carlisle. His next career move will be a big one and it seems at the moment that London and QPR is the most likely.
