PREVIEW: Free-scoring Hatters host Mariners

Table toppers Luton Town face play-off chasing Grimsby Town this weekend, with the Hatters looking to extend their lead at the top of SkyBet League Two.

Luton currently sit top of the tree, with Notts County breathing down their necks just two points behind. Grimsby on the other hand are currently sat in 11th place. Just two points behind 7th placed Coventry City.

The Hatters have taken an impressive seven points out of the last nine available, only dropping points against second placed Notts County at Kenilworth Road.

Nathan Jones’ men were able to pick up all three points last Saturday when they visited bottom placed Forest Green Rovers. Despite playing the last half an hour with 10 men, goals from Alan Sheehan and League Two top scorer Danny Hylton were able to see off Rovers.

Full-back Jack Stacey will be the only player not at the disposal for Jones following his red card at the New Lawn.

The Mariners are in equally good form as their counterparts. Picking up seven points from nine, including a very credible point on the road to second placed Notts County. Their last win came in the form of a 1-0 home victory against Forest Green. Mitch Rose’s first half strike was enough to secure the points for Russell Slade’s men.

In this fixture last season, the Mariners were able to come away with all three points following a brace from now Cardiff City striker Omar Bogle.

His goals either side of an equaliser from Glen Rea were enough for Town walk away with the points.
