Hull City defender set for return in February having not played since the 2016 Play-Off final

Hull City right-back Moses Odubajo is setting his sights on a return from injury in February, according to the Hull Daily Mail.

Odubajo has not played since Hull’s Play-Off final win over Sheffield Wednesday in May 2016, which was 17 months ago.

The 24 year-old suffered a dislocated kneecap in July 2016, which would rule him out for the whole of Hull City’s Premier League season last year. He then suffered two further setbacks with ligament damage and then a fractured kneecap on his return in training put him out of action for the summer and the start of this season.

Odubajo has had some rotten luck with injuries and has seen Steve Bruce, Mike Phelan, Marco Silva and Leonid Slutsky all leave the club during his time on the side-lines.

Now managed by Nigel Adkins, Hull City are now hoping to see their defender come back into the team and there is no doubt Odubajo will feel like a new signing for their fans. He was a key part of the Tigers team who were promoted from the Championship in he 2015/16 season under Steve Bruce.

He started his career with Leyton Orient and played over 100 games for the O’s. He joined Championship side Brentford in 2014 and helped get the Bees into the Play-Offs that season. However, he stayed with the London club for just a season and signed for Hull City for £3.5 million in the summer of 2015.

Hull fans will be eagerly awaiting the return of Odubajo. They also have Abel Hernandez and Ryan Mason returning from injury in 2018, so good times could be on the way after a poor start to the campaign.
