Nottingham Forest set to bid for Denmark international goalkeeper

Nottingham Forest are reportedly set to make a bid for Brondby goalkeeper Frederik Ronnow, according to the Nottingham Post.

Forest tried to sign the highly rated ‘keeper in the summer but failed to lure him to the City Ground. However, they are now being linked with another move for him.

Mark Warbuton has signalled his intention to sign a new goalkeeper in January. They have been linked with a move for Fulham’s Marcus Bettenelli but it now appears that Frederik Ronnow is their number one target.

Ronnow, 25, has 5 caps for Denmark. He joined Brondby in 2015 and has been their first choice goalkeeper ever since. He started his career with AC Horsens and spent 5 seasons with them.

After an impressive season on loan to Esbjerg in 2014 he was snapped up by Brondby. However, he may now be set to leave the Danish league for the first time with Forest lining up a move in January. There are also rumours that Premier League side Crystal Palace are also interested in him.

Forest have been playing Jordan Smith in goal for this season and also have former West Ham goalkeeper Stephen Henderson on their books.  It will be interesting to see what happens to them two if/when they sign a new shot stopper in the January transfer window.

Forest are 11th in the Championship table and are 7 points off the Play-Offs. Mark Warbuton will be looking to make some signings in January to improve their chances of pushing into the Play-Offs and into contention for promotion.
