Brentford enquire about signing Crystal Palace winger

Brentford have enquired about the possibility of signing Crystal Palace winger Sulley Kaikai in January, according to Sky Sports.

The 22 year-old winger spent the start of last season on loan at Brentford but was recalled by Crystal Palace when Sam Allardyce took over. His chances have been limited so far this season and he could leave in January.

Kaikai has never really broken into the Palace first-team and most of his games for the Eagles have come in cup matches. He has spent the majority of his early career out on loan.

After coming up through the Palace academy, Kaikai’s first loan spell was at Crawley Town in the 2013/14 season. He then went to Cambridge United for the next season, where he made 30 appearances and scored 6 goals.

His most prolific form of his career so far came during a loan spell with League One side Shrewsbury Town in 2015/16. He scored 12 goals for the Shrews in 29 games.

His move to Brentford in the summer of 2016 was an exciting one for Bees fans. There was a lot of anticipation as to whether he could make the step up from League One to the Championship. He managed to bag 3 league goals before returning to Palace half-way through his loan.

Brentford fans will be hoping they can get another look at Kaikai with a second spell this season. With his game time at Palace limited, Kaikai will be hoping for more first-team action and another chance to impress with Brentford if they can bring him in again on loan.
