Our predicted Aston Villa side to face Derby County

Aston Villa will be hoping to keep their impressive away form going when they play against Derby County at Pride Park this afternoon.

The Claret and Blue Army have not lost on the road in over two months, with their last away defeat coming at the hands of league leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers in October.

But Steve Bruce’s side’s current injury problems are not getting easier, with three more players sidelined following their 0-0 draw with Millwall last weekend.

Here is how the Villans could start this afternoon.

Predicted line up (4-4-1-1): Sam Johnstone; Ahmed El Mohamady, Tommy Elphick, James Chester, Neil Taylor; Robert Snodgrass, Glenn Whelan, Conor Hourihane, Albert Adomah, Joshua Onomah, Keinan Davis

Predicted substitutes: Jed Steer, Micah Richards, Birkir Bjarnasson, Mile Jedinak, Jack Grealish, Scott Hogan, Gabriel Agbonlahor

Sam Johnstone is one of four Championship goalkeepers currently on nine clean sheets in the league this season. He will be hoping to reach double figures against the Rams.

Alan Hutton and Christopher Samba both sustained injuries during the stalemate against Millwall; Ahmed Elmohamady and Tommy Elphick are in contention to replace them in the back four, alongside James Chester and Neil Taylor.

Midfielder Henri Lansbury was also injured in their last match; Conor Hourihane could replace him the middle of midfield alongside fellow Irishman Glenn Whelan with Robert Snodgrass and their current top goalscorer Albert Adomah out wide.

Tottenham Hotspur loanee and England Under 21 international Joshua Onomah could start as an attacking midfielder behind Keinan Davis up front.

Score Prediction: Derby County 2-1 Aston Villa
