Lincoln loanee back in contention for important weekend clash

Danny Cowley revealed that Brighton loanee, Jordan Maguire-Drew, is back in training with the club ahead of their SkyBet League Two fixture with Accrington Stanley.

Maguire-Drew has struggled to hold down a place in Cowley’s starting 11, falling even further down the pecking order with his latest injury.

After impressing in the Checkatrade Trophy victory over Everton U21’s, the on loan winger picked up a knock which has seen him side-lined since late October.

The 20 year old had returned to parent club, Brighton and Hove Albion, in order to complete his rehabilitation from his grade two tear on his hip.

However, the Imps manager was delighted that the youngster had returned to training with the club:

“We’re pleased to have him back. He’s got real ability and our supporters probably haven’t seen the best of him yet.

“He’s trained today. He’s been able to get some good treatment back at Brighton. He’s trained fully today which was really pleasing and hopefully he’ll be in and around it this weekend.”

Cowley also revealed how his side are yet to pick up any more knocks despite being a rather small squad for the division:

“The whole squad trained today which was a real positive. Credit to the medical team and the sports science team because we’re a small squad as everyone knows and we’ve had lots of games in a sort space of time.

“The fact that we’ve got everyone fit is a massive achievement to all those behind the scenes but that’s very important because there’s a lot of games to come in December.
