Leeds United attacker has attracted interest from Danish club

Leeds United attacker Pawel Cibicki has been the subject of transfer interest from the Danish Superliga according to the Express.

The 23-year-old former Sweden Under-21 international winger joined The Whites on Transfer Deadline Day from hometown club Malmo FF for an undisclosed fee thought to be in the region of £1.5 million however the player has appeared on just three occasions for Thomas Christiansen’s men.

With Cibicki having struggled to make any kind of impact early in his career at Elland Road, reports in Denmark have indicated that Danish Superliga outfit Brondby IF have held talks over signing the player in the last few weeks. Those discussions with Leeds United are understood to have not progressed beyond an initial stage and Cibicki will continue to battle for his place in The Whites’ starting XI.

The three-time Swedish Allsvenskan title-winner made his first appearance in the Sky Bet Championship for Leeds United last weekend as the West Yorkshire club won 3-1 at QPR. Cibicki replaced Caleb Ekuban in the 38th minute of the match with his teammate having limped off with an injury. The attacker’s previous outings have both come in the EFL Cup.

Cibicki signed a four-year deal when he joined Leeds United and the club clearly feel that the youngster could develop into a top class player during that period.
