MATCH PREVIEW: Leeds United vs Norwich City

Norwich City travel to Elland Road to face an in-form Leeds United side tomorrow, with the Whites looking to move within one point of the final play off place.

Leeds sit just outside the play off spots in 7th place. They have 33 points from their 21 games and are 4 points behind 6th place Sheffield United. Despite pre-season aspirations of a promotion push, Norwich are down in 16th spot with 27 points from their 21 games. They will be hoping last weeks win over Sheffield Wednesday will kick-start their season.

FORM

Leeds have won 3 of their last 5 games in the Championship. Their 2 previous home games has conjured up 4 points, with an impressive victory over Middlesbrough and a respectable draw against Aston Villa.

Norwich picked up their first victory in 8 Championship games last weekend, beating Sheffield Wednesday 3-1. However their form on the road remains suspect, they have lost their last 3 away league games.

TEAM NEWS

Leeds striker Pierre Michel-Lasogga could return to the squad for the first time since their 3-1 defeat to Brentford. He has missed the last 5 games due to a suspected calf injury. Pablo Hernandez is also expected to be fit after missing last weeks victory at QPR. Stuart Dallas remains sidelined for Leeds and Caleb Ekuban is also absent after picking up an ankle injury last week.

Midfielder Alex Tettey (calf) could return to the squad for the first time since September and left back Jamal Lewis (knee) has also returned to training this week. Meanwhile, defender James Husband is close to a return from a groin injury, but this game is expected to come too soon. Forward Steven Naismith (ankle) is also stepping up his recovery.

PREVIOUS MEETING

Last seasons encounter at Elland Road was one of the games of the season. Norwich went 3-0 up inside the first half, but a superb Leeds recovery saw the game end 3-3. However, this was all in vain as Leeds’ hopes of a play off spot were effectively ended.

PREDICTION

Leeds seem to be finding their form again and I expect them to just about overcome Norwich. The Canaries away form has been poor of late and I don’t expect this to change tomorrow.
