Southampton, West Bromwich Albion and Swansea City all keeping tabs on Norwich City midfielder

Premier League trio Southampton, West Brom and Swansea City are all tracking Norwich City midfielder Ben Godfrey, as per a report by the Eastern Daily Express.

The 19 year-old is currently on loan at Shrewsbury Town and has been in excellent form for the League One side. This has left various Premier League club keeping tabs on him.

Godfrey has played 16 times for the Shrews this season and has been a key part of Paul Hurst’s men who have surprised everyone in League One this season. They are now promotion hopefuls whereas at the start of the campaign they were seen as relegation candidates.

The central midfielder joined Norwich City in January 2016 for an undisclosed fee from his home-town club York City. He came up through the York City academy and made his debut in August 2015 aged just 17.

He made his debut for the Canaries in August 2016 in an EFL Cup fixture against Coventry City and managed to bag a debut goal in the 87th minute as Norwich ran riot and won 6-1. He made 5 more appearances for them last season, with on coming in a league game against Birmingham City.

He was loaned out to Shrewsbury in August to gain some first-team football. Norwich fans will be hoping they can see off interest from Southampton, West Brom and Swansea for him in January and hold onto their promising star. He is being tipped as a key part of Norwich City’s future and they will not want to lose him anytime soon.
