Conor Coady: ‘We have to learn from every game’

Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Conor Coady said that they need to learn from every game after their 0-0 draw against Sunderland.

Wolves missed the chance to go seven points clear at the top of the table, after their six-match winning streak came to an end against the Black Cats.

Sunderland played the majority of the second half with ten men, after Lee Cattermole was booked twice in less than a minute.

Coady feels that they need to learn from the draw and that the squad can bounce back fast.

“You’ve got to learn. You learn from every single game,” said Coady.

“The boys have been really good at that this season, they’ve took things from every game and moved forward pretty quickly.

“We do that from every game, not just this one. We learn, we get back on the training pitch, go over the game, and hopefully get better for Friday.”

Wolves’ winning streak had started in October, but a rare clean sheet for Sunderland ended that run on Saturday.

Coady, who captained the team against Sunderland, said that there were still positives to take from the draw.

He said: “Look at the positives: it’s a point, a clean sheet, a step in the direction of where we want to go so we look forward to Friday now.

“I wouldn’t say we were below our best. We moved the ball, we tried to break them down. I thought we could’ve took advantage of the chances we had in the first half a bit more than what we did.

“They came to get what they wanted and they got it in the end, so fair play.”

Wolves will be hoping to extend their current unbeaten streak to eight matches when they face Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Friday.
