Wigan Athletic reject being tracked by English Premier League trio

Former Wigan Athletic defender Jack Hendry is believed to be interesting English Premier League trio Southampton, Newcastle United and Crystal Palace according to the Mail Online.

The 22-year-old Glasgow born centre-back failed to impress during his time at the DW Stadium and the player joined Scottish Premiership club Dundee in the summer.

Hendry made just three first team appearances for The Latics while he has been loaned out to Sky Bet League One clubs Shrewsbury Town and MK Dons in recent seasons.

The player is making an impact with current club Dundee and it has now been reported that English Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on Hendry including Southampton, Newcastle United and Crystal Palace. The defender negotiated an early release from his contract with Wigan Athletic to join The Dee and the Scottish Premiership club could now be offered a sizeable transfer fee for Hendry in January.

The defender has finally grasped the opportunity of regular first team football with two hands this season with Hendry having appeared for Dundee on 21 occasions.

After starting his career with Partick Thistle, Hendry joined Wigan Athletic in September 2015. It is thought that Merseyside club Everton had been scouting the player prior to his move to the 2012/2013 FA Cup winners.
