Middlesbrough fans comment on Bristol City loss and Garry Monk

Some Leeds United fans were crying foul when Garry Monk walked away from Elland Road and headed further north to take in the vacant Middlesbrough manager seat. They are still crying now.

The saltiness of Leeds fans’ tears have been replaced by the salty taste of irony and sarcasm as Monk’s pilgrimage to the Riverside is likely to end in a drowning rather than a baptism and new life for Boro.

Monk’s Boro side sit in a pretty decent ninth position in the Championship but have endured back-to-back defeats against Derby (losing 3-0) and against Bristol City (2-1), the Bristol defeat coming a mere few hours ago.

It is easy to say that it hasn’t been plain sailing for the former Swansea player and manager, a manager who stabilised a rocky Leeds United, up on Teesside. Already fans are becoming disillusioned with a failure to deliver what many would see a challenge for promotion.

Seven losses overall, three in their last six games and a talent-laden squad underperforming is what many Boro fans are seeing as they look on from the terraces. It is safe to say that these fans are not happy, not happy at all at what they are having to witness.
