Reading boss will consider loan move for winger

Reading manager Jaap Stam will consider sending winger Callum Harriott out on loan according to Get Reading.

The 23-year-old Norbury born wideman has spent the best part of a year out of action with a hamstring problem and the player needs games to build up his match fitness.

It has been reported that Reading boss Stam will hold talks with Harriott about potentially offering him out to clubs for loan and it is understood that the final decision will be made by the winger himself.

Harriott joined Reading from Sky Bet Championship club Charlton Athletic in August 2016 for an undisclosed fee and the player has gone on to make just 17 appearances for The Royals, scoring three goals prior to his injury woes.

The winger remains in manager Stam’s long term plans at The Madejski Stadium and Harriott has a further 18 months remaining on his deal with The Royals.

Harriott is a product of the Charlton Athletic academy system and the player went on to make 92 first team appearances for The Addicks in which he scored 12 goals.

The winger has the potential to be a real talent and the Reading fans will be looking forward to finally seeing Harriott return once he has built up his fitness.
