Barnsley striker a doubt for Leeds United match after having car accident

Barnsley head coach Paul Heckingbottom has told the Yorkshire Post that Tom Bradshaw could miss the match against Leeds United after having a car accident.

The 25-year-old striker has been in great form this season, scoring nine goals in 21 appearances for the Tykes. And with a Yorkshire derby coming up against Leeds, Barnsley were hoping to have him in place so they can potentially shock their neighbors from just up the M1.

But fate has intervened and could stop Bradshaw from being involved in the match on Saturday. On Wednesday night, he had a car accident and while no serious injuries were inflicted on the former Walsall man, it was enough for him to be left out of training today. The accident saw his car being wrote off, so Bradshaw was lucky to get out of it without any serious problems but due to the bruising he has he may not take part in Saturday’s match.

Heckingbottom said: “Bradders was involved in a car accident last (Wednesday) night, so he is going to miss training, but hopefully he will be alright.”

“It was a nasty one and his car was written off. He has got a bruised back and things like that, so he won’t be training today. But he is adamant that he will be alright (for Saturday). Sometimes, the stiffness and soreness comes the day after, but hopefully he will be ok.”

There is some good news though for Barnsley as Angus MacDonald may return after being out of the midweek match against Cardiff City.
