Hull City boss likely to remain in charge for Bristol City fixture

Under-fire Hull City manager Leonid Slutsky is expected to keep his job for Saturday’s home fixture against Bristol City in the Sky Bet Championship according to The Yorkshire Post.

The 46-year-old Russian boss took charge of The Tigers in the summer but has overseen just four wins from 19 matches in all competitions.

Tuesday evening’s goalless draw with Millwall at The New Den left the club without a win in five matches while they have collected just two points during that dismal run.

Hull City are now just four points from the relegation zone but despite Slutsky finding himself under severe pressure, the hierarchy at The KCOM Stadium have indicated that they have no plans to replace the former Russian national boss just yet.

Slutsky’s spell managing with The Tigers is his first outside of his homeland. He began his managerial career in the lower reaches of the Russian game with Olimpia Volgograd before spending time with Uralan Elista. Big top flight jobs with FC Moscow, Krylia Sovetov and CSKA Moscow followed before his stint with the Russian national team.

During his time with CSKA Moscow, Slutsky was a three-time Russian Premier League winner while he also lifted the Russian Cup and Russian Super Cup on two occasions. Any level of success is yet to be produced with current club Hull City.
