Ian Holloway looking to change things around to get long-awaited away win

QPR head coach Ian Holloway has told Get West London that he is planning to change things up so that QPR can finally get an away win.

The R’s haven’t pulled up any trees this season, they are 15th in the Sky Bet Championship, and a lot of that is due to their terrible away form. They have not won a game away from Loftus Road in 15 attempts, something which is seriously affecting their ability to challenge at the top of the table.

The stats get even more unfavourable when you look at who they are facing next, Derby County. They have not won at the iPro Stadium since 2009. In that game, goals from Adel Taarabt, Gavin Mahon, Jay Simpson and Akos Buzsaky giving them a 4-2 win. It was goals from Paul Dickov and Robbie Savage that stopped it being a rout. And Holloway is now going to change things around in his team to give them a better chance of winning.

He said: “The whole mindset away from home needs to change for us. It’s something we’ve discussed and it’s something we’ve been working on.”

“We need to look at the way we play on our travels, but I’m not going to talk publicly about how we do that, because we don’t want to give away our game-plan.”

“What I will say is that I’ve got every confidence and belief in this group of players to go and get a result at a place like Pride Park.”

“I mean that when I say it, because I work with these players every day of the week and I believe in what we’re doing day in, day out, week in, week out.”
