Former Leeds United manager Dennis Wise is set to appear on ITV reality show I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here according to a press release from ITV.
Wise is a very well-respected player having competed for the likes of Wimbledon, Chelsea and Millwall. He was also capped for England 21 times and played at Euro 2000. He would then go on to have a managerial career, first starting with Swindon Town before becoming the manager of Leeds. His time at Elland Road isn’t fondly remembered though as this was when the club went into administration and were relegated from the Sky Bet Championship.
After that reign ended, Wise had a controversial spell as an executive for Newcastle United and hasn’t been involved in football since. But now he will follow in the footsteps of Wayne Bridge, Kieron Dyer and Jimmy Bullard in heading into the jungle for the latest series of I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here. The popular reality series hosted by Ant & Dec sees a number of celebrities living in the jungle for two and a half weeks, with the celebrities being voted to do gruesome challenges known as Bushtucker trials. Towards the end of the show, celebrities are then voted off by the public before a King or Queen of the Jungle is announced. Previous winners include Gogglebox’s Scarlett Moffatt, TV chef Gino D’Acampo and panto star Christopher Biggins.
This year Wise won’t be the only sports star in the jungle as Olympic medalist Amir Khan will also be joining him. Rebakah Vardy, Jamie Vardy’s wife, will also be in the show this year. Other contestants include comedian Shappi Khorsandi, Coronation Street actress Jennie McAlpine and The Saturdays singer Vanessa White.
