Cash, Matty Cash will play anywhere to get into Nottingham Forest first team

Matty Cash will play anywhere to get into Nottingham Forest first team

Nottingham Forest’s Matty Cash has told the Nottingham Post that he is willing to play anywhere so he can get into the first team.

Cash has been a promising player ever since he broke through from the club’s academy and many fans thought that this would be his breakout year for the club, especially after an impressive pre-season. However he would suffer an ankle injury in the friendly against Girona and that would rule him out for the start of the season. And even though he has since recovered from that injury, he is still yet to make an appearance for the first team this season.

However Cash seems to have a joker up his sleeve. While he is best known for being a central midfielder, he also got used to playing as a right wing-back during pre-season. And he has now said that he would be willing to play anywhere on the pitch just so he can get some appearances under his belt.

He said: “I have said it before and I will say it again – I will play in any position for this football club. If I am involved and playing, I am happy. It is a dream come true for me to be playing for Forest,”

“If the gaffer wants me to play right-back, left-back, central midfield, as a number 10 or as a striker, whatever – I will do it.”

“I will always give my best, in whatever position I am asked to play.”

Cash will hope to get his chance in Forest’s next match against Birmingham City.
