Wolves boss believed to have snubbed Everton interest

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Nuno Espirito Santo is believed to have snubbed an approach from English Premier League club Everton for his services according to BBC Sport.

The 43-year-old Portuguese coach has been a revelation at Molineux since his arrival in the summer with Wolves being the surprise Sky Bet Championship league leaders after 15 matches.

The former Valencia and FC Porto coach is quickly making a name for himself in the English game and managerless English Premier League club Everton have been rumoured to have made an approach for Santo’s services.

The Toffees are currently searching for a new boss after sacking former manager Ronald Koeman last week following a poor start to the season and Spanish journalist Guillem Balague stated that the club had approached Santo.

It has now been reported that the Wolves boss has no plans to force a move to Merseyside and Santo remains fully focussed on guiding his current club to a first appearance in the top flight since 2012.

Wolves have played some exciting football this season and are the Sky Bet Championship’s joint top scorers with Hull City after netting 27 goals. Santo’s men have won four of their last five league matches while they were the first team to prevent Manchester City from scoring this season when they held the top flight giants to a goalless draw in the Carabao Cup before bowing out on penalty kicks.
