Everton approach Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo

Premier League side Everton have apparently approached Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo, according to Sky Sports journalist Guillem Balague.

Balague says Everton have approached the Portuguese boss as one of their potential candidates and that his agent Jorge Mendes is listening but no decision has been made. The Toffees are still looking for a replacement for Ronald Koeman, who they sacked after a poor start to their season in the top flight. Burnley boss Sean Dyche is also being heavily linked.

Nuno Espirito Santo joined Wolves in the summer. He has guided them to top of the Championship having won 10 games in 15. He has also managed to attract big names like Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota and Leo Bonatini to Molinuex. He has his Wolves side well organised and hard to break down whilst up top they have quality and the cutting edge to punish opponents.

The 43 year-old played for the likes of Porto, Deportivo and Dynamo Moscow in his playing days. He started his managerial career at Rio Ave in Portugal and spent two seasons there before being spotted by Valencia. He joined Valencia in 2014 and guided them to 4th in La Liga before resigning in November in the next season.

His next move was to Porto in June 2016 where he stayed for a season before being sacked in May 2017. Wolves named him as their new manager in the same month, using their links with Jorge Mendes to good use.

Wolves fans have been very happy with Nuno Espirito Santo and are hoping that he does not get his head turned by Everton. After all, Wolves look like they will be in the same league as Everton next season.
