Everton plot move for Sheffield United defender

Everton are interested in a move for promising Sheffield United defender Sam Graham, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The Merseyside club may move for the young centre-back in the January transfer window. Graham has a contract with Sheffield United until 2020.

Everton have raided Sheffield United in the past for young talent. They signed striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin from the Blades and were also linked with promising midfielder David Brooks previously. However, Brooks has since signed a new deal, much to the delight of the Sheffield United fans, and Everton have switched their attention to Sam Graham.

The Blades have made an unbelievable start to the life back in the Championship. They spent 6 seasons in League One before storming to the title last season under Chris Wilder. They have carried on their momentum from last season and are currently top of the Championship and many of their fans are dreaming of a promotion to the Premier League.

They have recorded stunning wins away at Yorkshire rivals Leeds United and in the eagerly anticipated Steel City Derby against Sheffield Wednesday. It will be interesting to see if they can maintain their early season form.

Although Sam Graham has not played for the Blades this season, he has been a key player for their under 23 squad. Sheffield United will no doubt do their best to keep hold of their promising talent. Many at Bramall Lane are tipping him for a big future in the game so will be reluctant to sell him in January.
