Gary Rowett confident Derby County can get away win

Derby County head coach Gary Rowett has told the club website that he is confident his team can get an away win this weekend.

While the Rams have been in good form recently, picking up an impressive 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday last week, there is still one blight on their record this year. That’s the fact their away form hasn’t been very good and they haven’t won away from the iPro Stadium since back in August. If Derby want to challenge for promotion, they will need to change that quickly.

And Derby’s next match is on the road as they travel to Norwich, a team that earned a lot of respect after forcing Arsenal to extra time in the Carabao Cup this week. But even though they have also been in good form recently, Rowett is confident that they can end their bout of poor form on the road by beating them at Carrow Road.

He said: “I think it’s all about the mindset. We’re starting to feel a little more confident, we’re in a better place to go away from home and play a more consistent style.

“We’ve not won enough away games, but we’ve shown that we can be resilient and limit the opposition and now we need to transfer some of the good attacking moments from our home games into the away games.

“Now that we’ve won two games at home, the debate will be whether we can go away and be far more expansive, and we want to build the confidence of the team so that we can attack away just as well as we do at home.”
