Sheffield United flop makes shock return to England with Ebbsfleet United

Former Sheffield United striker Febian Brandy has made a shock return to English football by joining National League club Ebbsfleet United according to Kent Online.

The 28-year-old journeyman has returned to the UK after playing in Thailand with Ubon UMT United and the player will now look to rebuild his career in the fifth tier of English football.

A deal was agreed in principle before the weekend and it has now been confirmed that The Fleet have received international clearance for the striker to feature for them.

Brandy started his career on the books at English Premier League giants Manchester United but the Saint Kitts and Nevis international never played for The Red Devils at senior level. Moves to Notts County and Greek club Panetolikos followed before an impressive season with Walsall in which Brandy bagged seven goals in 34 appearances for The Saddlers.

In June 2013, the player rejected the opportunity to extend his stay at The Bescot Stadium and instead moved to Sheffield United where he signed a two-year deal. All did not go to plan for Brandy in South Yorkshire and the striker was released by The Blades after a season in which the forward fail to score a single goal for the club.

Since leaving Bramall Lane, Brandy has tried to rebuild his career with Rotherham United, Crewe Alexandra and Rochdale before spending time in Thailand.
