Sheffield Wednesday legend Carlton Palmer has said on Twitter that it is time for Carlos Carvalhal to leave the club.
Palmer is a fan favourite at Hillsborough having been a key part of the team during their glory years in the early 1990s. He helped them to get promoted to the Old Division and played in the 1993 FA Cup final. He was also capped 18 times by England, but this time is not so fondly remembered as he is often blamed for the performances of the side which did not reach the Euros in 1992.
Palmer still has his say on the current Sheffield Wednesday side from time to time and had previously said that Carvalhal had to get promotion this season considering the talent he had in his squad and the fact this was his third year with the squad.
But the Portuguese manager has come under increasing pressure over the last few weeks and it is set to get worse after they lost to Derby County yesterday. Club captain Glenn Loovens was sent off after just four minutes after taking down Matej Vydra in the box. Vydra was then able to step up and score the resulting penalty. And while the Owls did battle to get an equaliser, Derby put the game beyond doubt when Bradley Johnson scored late on.
This seemed to be the final straw for Palmer who said: “Waking up to the #owls getting beat again I have supported cc and having being a manager i know how hard the job is . But he has to go now.”

His followers seemed to agree that it was time for Carvalhal to get his P45.
