There is still a chance for Championship teams to bolster their ranks by signing free agents. Here are 10 players who are without a club at the moment-
- Jan Kirchhoff– The German midfielder is still without a club since leaving Sunderland at the end of last season. He has been unfortunate with injuries in the past but would be a useful signing for any Championship side. He is only 27 years-old and impressed for Sunderland under Sam Allardyce in 2015/16 before his injury problems.
- Sebastian Bassong- It looked like the Cameroon international was going to join Birmingham but a move never materialised. He is a good Championship defender and very experienced. The former Norwich man was also linked with a move to Hull, so will surely end up with a club soon.
- Youssouf Mulumbu– The 30 year-old midfielder was also released by Norwich City at the end of last season when his contract expired. The former West Brom man would be a definitely be a decent signing for any team in the Championship.
- Mathieu Flamini– The former Arsenal man is only 34 and could do a job for any Championship side. He’s surely worth a gamble. Derby County have been recently linked with him. It would be a very exciting prospect if Flamini came to play in the Championship.
- Ruud Boymans- The 28 year-old Dutch forward is available and was prolific for VVV, Willem II and FC Utrecht in the Eredivisie. A Championship club could strike gold if they take a punt on the 6ft 2inc striker.
