The Championship is home to some top class defenders who could easily play in the Premier League. Here are 5 right-backs who are the best in the division, in no particular order-
Luke Ayling, Leeds United- The 26 year-old joined Leeds United in 2016. He was a key part of the Leeds side who finished just outside the Play-Offs last season under Garry Monk. New boss Thomas Christiansen is also a fan of the Whites defender and he is set for another good season with the Yorkshire club.
Ivo Pinto, Norwich City- The Portuguese defender has been captain of Norwich in recent games. He has played for Porto, Rio Ave and Dinamo Zagreb in the past and is one of the best right-backs in the Championship, not only for his defensive abilities but also going forward.
Cyrus Christie, Middlesbrough- The Republic of Ireland international has just helped his country gain a World Cup Play-Off and he is a key player for his new club Middlesbrough this season. He left Derby County to go to the Riverside and is a player tipped to play in the Premier League soon.
Ryan Fredericks, Fulham- The former Tottenham right-back plays a pivotal part in the way Fulham play, with their full-backs who like to get forward and join attacks. If Fulham are to challenge for promotion then he will play a big part in that.
Andy Yiadom, Barnsley- The 25 year-old was heavily linked with a move to Premier League side Swansea in the summer. He joined Barnsley from Barnet in the summer of 2016 and was outstanding for the Yorkshire club last season.
