Leeds United are keen on a loan move for Huddersfield Town left-back Scott Malone, according to ClubCall.
The defender only joined Premier League side Huddersfield from Fulham in the summer but is already being linked with a loan move away. He has only featured for the Terriers twice this season, and Leeds see him as a potential signing in January.
Malone, 26, impressed for Fulham last season. He was a key player for Slavisa Jokanovic’s side who reached the Play-Offs last season. He started his career with Wolves before loan spells with Southend, Burton Albion and Bournemouth. He joined Bournemouth on a permanent deal in 2011.
He only spent one season with the Cherries before moving to Millwall, where he spent 3 seasons. His next move was to Cardiff City before joining Fulham in 2016. He scored 6 goals for the Cottagers from left-back last season.
It is expected that Leeds boss Thomas Christiansen will look for a left-back in January. They did sign Cameron Borthwick-Jackson on loan from Manchester United in the summer but he found it hard to break into the team. The Whites have still not replaced Charlie Taylor, who left to join Premier League side Burnley.
Scott Malone was regarded last season as one of the best full-backs in the Championship. he would be a great signing for Leeds if they manage to bring him in. He would help in Leeds’s push for a promotion this season. There will no doubt be a lot of competition from other Championship sides for his signature though.
