This is the start of a new weekly betting tips series where we will give you some Football League betting tips for the weekend. Here are five sides we’re tipping to win this weekend.
Aston Villa to beat Bolton Wanderers
Aston Villa are coming off the back of a 4-0 win at Burton Albion and have won their last three league games on the trot. The Midlands club are also unbeaten in their last seven games. Whereas Bolton are still winless all season as they sit bottom on two points and have only scored once away all season. Bolton have also shifted the most amount of goals in the league having conceded 21 in just 10 matches. This should be fairly straightforward for Steve Bruces’ men.
ODDS: 2/5 or 1.40 (Sky Bet)
Preston North End to beat Sunderland
Preston North End currently sit 5th in the Championship, just two points off Sheffield United in 2nd and are unbeaten in their last seven games. The promotion hopefuls also have the best defence in the league having only conceded four goals all season. But Sunderland are 23rd and have the second-worst defence in the Championship leaking 19 goals in 10 games.
Odds: 4/5 or 1.80 (Sky Bet)
Portsmouth to beat Oldham Athletic
Portsmouth are the 7th most inform side from that last five games in League One and will be full of confidence having just beaten Bristol Rovers 3-0 on Tuesday night. The newly-promoted side are showing everyone just what they are capable of and they’ll be eager to keep that going. As for Oldham, it’s not looking good. The Latics are second from bottom, only won twice all season and have conceded 25 goals which the most amount of goals by a long way.
Odds: 4/7 or 1.57 (Sky Bet)
Peterborough United to beat Oxford United
Peterborough are just slight favourites going into this fixture given they’re League One’s top scores and have only lost twice all season. Third place in the league and pushing for promotion. The future looks bright for Posh fans! Oxford are currently mid-table in 15th place and the Oxfordshire club have only won once away all season which doesn’t make great reading for the Oxford United faithful.
Odds: 11/10 or 2.10 (Sky Bet)
Stevenage to beat Port Vale
Stevenage are 6th in League Two on 18 points and are looking for promotion this season following their impressive start. They’re coming into this off the back of two straight victories and are hoping to make it three on the bounce. Facing them is, of course, Port Vale. Port Vale are League Two’s lowest scoring side having only scored eight goals in 10 games. Port Vale are also winless since the opening day and they’ve just not looked like winning since. Stevenage really shouldn’t be too worried about Port Vale at all and almost everyone fully expects them to come away with the three points.
Odds: 11/10 or 2.10 (Sky Bet)
All of these tips in an accumulator would give you odds of 16.46/1 or 17.46. This would see £20 return an excellent £349.27! Even just a £5 bet would return a very nice £87.92! (Sky Bet)
