17 out of the 24 teams in the Championship are managed by domestic managers. This leaves 7 foreign managers in charge of the rest, here they are-
- Slavisa Jokanovic, Fulham- The Serbian manager currently manages Fulham. He has previously been manager of Partizan, Muangthong United, Hercules, Watford, Maccabi Tel-Aviv before joining Fulham in 2015. He guided the Cottagers to the Play-Offs last season but they narrowly lost to Reading over the 2 legs.
- Leonid Slutsky, Hull City- The former CSKA Moscow and Russia head coach is the first ever Russian to manage in England. He joined Hull City in the summer but has had a difficult time so far.
- Thomas Christiansen, Leeds United- The 44 year-old Danish manager joined Leeds from Greek club APOEL in the summer. He has made a great start to life in England, with Leeds currently in 3rd place.
- Daniel Farke, Norwich City- The German manager left Borussia Dortmund II, the reserve side of the first-team, to join Norwich. The Canaries are hoping they have the next David Wagner on their hands.
- Jaap Stam, Reading- The Dutch man guided Reading to the Play-Off final last season but they have struggled so far this season. He had previously worked at Ajax before joining the Royals.
- Carlos Carvahal, Sheffield Wednesday- The Owls became the 16th club the Portuguese manager had managed when he joined in 2015. In his first 2 seasons he guided them to the Play-offs twice but they failed in both attempts. He is now under pressure.
- Nuno Espirito Santo, Wolves- Formerly of Rio Ave, Valencia and Porto, the Portuguese coach has started well for Wolves and could well be the man to guide them to the Premier League this season.
