This evening Leeds United lost 3-1 away to Cardiff City but it could have been so much worse for the West Yorkshire club. The 3-1 scoreline really doesn’t tell the full story but how exactly did the game go?
Cardiff City scored opener just before the half-hour mark. Löic Damour capitalised on a mistake in midfield and found Junior Hoilett. He drove at the Leeds United defence before teeing up Kenneth Zohore, who made no mistake as he confidently slotted the ball past Wiedwald to put the Bluebirds ahead.
Within 10 minutes of the first and after wave after wave of Cardiff pressure, Junior Hoilett scored the Welsh sides second, Hoilett again charged at the Leeds United defence but he instead of passing it off he took on the shot himself and scored an absolute belter as the ball flew past the helpless Wiedwald.
Minutes after getting booked Cooper flew in with another rash challenge on winger Mendez-Laing. There was only thing Kevin Friend could do and that was to send Cooper marching down the tunnel. Seconds later Cardiff thought they had their third but it was ruled out, correctly, for offside.
Just before the hour mark Cardiff got their third. Hoilett was once again vital in the build-up as he played successive one-twos and the played in Morrison down the right-hand side. The captain then squared the ball across the box to Zohore, he then very cooly slotted it home which made it 3-0.
Leeds pulled one back via deflected shot from Kemar Roofe but by then it was just too late, especially as they only had 10 men on the pitch. But how did the Leeds United fans react to the defeat?

Very poor tonight. Bad team selection. We made Sol Bamba look like Claude Makelele. How Hernandez started in front of Saiz shocking night.

Cooper should be dropped as captain. A captain can’t lose his head and be reckless, he should be the one telling lads to calm down.
