Aston Villa prospect open to going out on loan

Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Lyden could leave the club on loan during the second half of the season according to the Birmingham Mail.

The 21-year-old Perth born midfielder is very much one for the future at Villa Park and is yet to become a first team regular at the club.

It has been reported that Lyden is open to leaving Villa on loan in January to gain some regular first team playing experience and the defensive midfielder would ideally like to join a club which are currently playing in Sky Bet League One.

Lyden is a graduate of Villa’s academy system after joining the club in 2012 following his move to England from Australia. The youngster made his first team debut in an FA Cup Third Round tie against Wycombe Wanderers in January 2016.

The player has gone on to make eight senior appearances in all competitions for Villa with most of those outings coming in the 2015/2016 campaign. Lyden has been restricted to appearances in Villa’s Carabao Cup fixtures this term.

The youngster has represented his country at under-20 level however regular first team football is required if Lyden is to feature for Australia at full international level. A loan move could certainly help highlight his talents to Villa boss Steve Bruce in the short term.
