The 6 longest serving Football League managers

4. Neal Ardley (AFC Wimbledon)

Appointed 10 October 2012

Neil Ardley made almost 250 appearances for Wimbledon, departing only when they controversially relocated to Milton Keynes. He has since managed Wimbledon’s ‘phoenix’ club (for want of a better name), AFC Wimbledon, for around the same number of games, and created history in 2016, leading the side into the third tier of English football for the first time.

Hugely popular with Dons fans, Ardley is keen to help his side establish themselves in League One, with last season’s fairly comfortable 15th place finish demonstrating that they were able to deal with the rigours and challenges of a higher division. It is difficult to see Ardley leaving any time soon.
