MATCH PREVIEW: Bristol City vs Derby County

Bristol City play host to Derby County in the championship tomorrow, with both sides in need of the points to propel themselves into the top six.

The Ashton Gate outfit are back at home following their last game, a thrilling 3-3 draw with Wolves, and look to take their goal-scoring momentum into this game. Derby also have a taste for goals at the moment after their 5-0 battering of Hull and will hope that their tight defensive record can secure the points.

Out of the three teams on 10 points, Bristol and Derby make up two of them, making this fixture even more important. A win for either of these sides could see them into 5th place come the end of the weekend.

Bristol City’s Bobby Reid is currently the joint top scorer in the league with five goals, adding his latest one at Molineux, and the Rams’ defence will have to keep an eye on him if they want another clean sheet.

On the other hand, the Derby man of the moment is Matej Vydra. the Czech international hit the net twice against Hull, almost bagging himself his first hat-trick of the season. The striker has already hit three goals this term and he’ll be on the hunt for more in tomorrow’s game.

Bristol currently have four players sidelined with injury, the only new concern being midfielder Jens Hegeler with a neck injury but there is no expected return date for the German yet. Full back Eros Pisano will also face a late fitness test before the match.

Derby also have four players out but there are no new concerns for the visitors. Neither side have any suspension worries.

You can back Bristol at 7/5 for a home win whereas the visitors are 15/8 to take the points but if this one looks too close to call, it’s 12/5 for a draw.
