Millwall vs Leeds United – The big match preview.

Millwall vs Leeds United is just around the corner and both sets of fans absolutely hate each other. Although on the pitch it’s not the biggest of rivalries off the pitch it’s massive. Neither side wants to lose and both sides love having the bragging rights. Of course in this article I’ll be focusing on the football side of things as opposed to the fans…

Last Time Out (Millwall)

Last time Millwall played was Tuesday 12th September. They faced fellow London side QPR and drew 2-2 but it was QPR who came away the much happier of the two sides. It couldn’t have started better for Millwall as they took the lead after just six minutes. But just before half time Millwall were reduced to ten men after Lee Gregory was given his marching orders for a terrible two footed challenge on QPR’s Josh Scowen.

Although down to ten men it was Millwall who scored as they doubled their lead courtesy of Jed Wallace. All was going well until the last 20 minutes when QPR scored two in quick succession to earn a point and leave Millwall very frustrated.

Last Time Out (Leeds United)

Last time out for Leeds was against Birmingham City where a 2-0 win took them to the top of the championship. On the 17th minute mark summer signing Samu Saiz strike raised the roof in Elland Road when he put them 1-0 up. The game itself was very even and the second goal of the match didn’t come until the 92nd minute when defender Stuart Dallas doubled Leeds Uniteds’ lead and sent them straight to the top of the table.

Head to Head

Throughout their whole histories Millwall and Leeds United have faced each other just 34 times in all competitions. They’ve been very equal in those games too having won 15 each and drawing just four between them. (11vs11.com)

Injuries and Suspensions

Millwall currently have no injury concerns (according to the ‘transfermarkt’) but as I’ve said Lee Gregory got sent off in his last match so will miss their next three games which means, of course, he’ll miss Millwalls’ fixture against Leeds United.

Leeds United currently have no injury or suspensions concerns (according to the ‘transfermarkt’).

The Odds

Leeds United are going in slight favourites with current odds of 6/4 with online bookmaker Sky Bet. You can back Millwall to win at slightly longer odds of 15/8. Or, if you fancy these sides to be evenly matched then you can take a punt at a draw at 9/4 with Sky Bet.

(All odds are with bookmaker Sky Bet and all odds were correct as of 10pm on Thursday 14th September 2017)
