Hull City winger Jarrod Bowen has won the Championship young player of the month award for August.
The 20 year-old has been in fine form for the Tigers this season, scoring 5 goals in 7 matches. He scored his first goal for the club on the first day of the season against Aston Villa. He has since added to that, scoring against QPR, Fulham and twice against Bolton Wanderers.
Hull City have struggled so far this season. They made a decent start to life back in the Championship, drawing 1-1 away at Aston Villa and then beat Burton 4-1 the week after. However, they have lost 5 games in their last 6, summoning them to 16th in the table as it stands.
One positive for Hull is the form of youngster Jarrod Bowen. He was signed by ex-tigers boss Steve Bruce from non-league Hereford back in 2014. He made his debut for Hull last season in the Premier League away at Watford. He also played against Manchester United in the League Cup semi-final last season. There was no doubt that he would get his chance for Hull this season in the Championship. Defender Max Clark is another youngster who has been handed first-team debuts by Leonid Slutsky this season.
The young player of the month award will come as no surprise to people who have watched Jarrod Bowen and Hull City this season. He has no doubt been one of the standout players for Hull, and it is certainly a name to watch out for in the future.
