Borussia Dortmund star Shinji Kagawa has heaped praise on potential Leeds United signing Yosuke Ideguchi on his online blog.
Championship side Leeds United are said to be interested in a move for the Gamba Osaka midfielder in January. Former Manchester United and currently Borrusia Dortmund midfielder Shinji Kagawa has said Ideguchi, who is a teammate for the Japan national team, is a “wonderful player” and one of many treasures in the Japan side.
Idegucha is a 21 year-old central midfielder who currently plays for Gamba Osaka in the Japanese first division, known as the J League. He is 5ft 7inc and is believed to be a very promising player. He has represented Japan at U19 and U23 level and has made 3 appearances for the national side.
He got his first call up in November 2016, at the age of 20. He recently scored the second goal for Japan in a 2-0 win over Australia, which enabled qualification for Japan for World Cup in 2018 in Russia.
He may well be on his way to England in January to Leeds United. The Whites’ boss Thomas Christiansen is believed to be a big fan of the Japanese midfielder. Leeds have had a great start to the Championship season and are looking to build on last season’s 7th place finish. They had a very busy summer, signing 16 players, but are showing no signs of stopping there and hope to bring some more faces through the door in January as they aim to get promoted to the Premier League.
