Aston Villa, “I wouldn’t change Steve Bruce as manager” says former Aston Villa midfielder

“I wouldn’t change Steve Bruce as manager” says former Aston Villa midfielder

Former Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie has had his say on Steve Bruce and has backed the former Hull City manager to succeed at Villa Park, as per a report by the Birmingham Mail.

There is a split between the Aston Villa fans regarding Steve Bruce, some are in the “Bruce Out” camp and others are willing to give him some more time. Bruce joined Aston Villa last season after Roberto Di Matteo was sacked early on in the season. He was heavily backed by Villa owner Tony Xia last January and in the summer.

Aston Villa have struggled in the Championship so far this season. After signings like John Terry, Glenn Whelan and Robert Snodgrass, there is a lot of expectation from Villa fans to get promoted this season. So far Villa have 6 points from 6 games. This type of form have made some fans question Steve Bruce as manager, claiming his defensive style of play is not for them.

Former Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie has backed Steve Bruce to succeed at Villa. He said “”I certainly wouldn’t change Steve Bruce as the manager. He’s got a great record in the Championship” He later added
“He’s had to turn that club upside-down to get it to where it is, and I think he’s got the right personnel in.
“I just think he needs the time, needs the fans and the confidence behind the whole group of players”.

The big question is whether or not Tony Xia will give Steve Bruce time. There is no doubt that Steve Bruce has a good record in the Championship, but are Aston Villa willing to wait for it to work or is there another manager to bring  immediate success?.
