Sheffield Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal will wait until the last minute before naming his starting XI to face Brentford at Hillsborough on Tuesday evening with four first team players struggling for fitness according to the Yorkshire Post.

The Owls are unbeaten in their last five outings in the Sky Bet Championship after losing their opening match of the season against Preston North End at Deepdale 1-0.

Ahead of the match against the winless Bees in South Yorkshire, it has been revealed that four players will face late fitness tests to determine whether they will be fit to play for Wednesday.

Midfielder Kieran Lee and striker Steven Fletcher have been battling injury problems for some time and with the pair not participating in training every day, both players are being assessed on a daily basis.

It has also been reported that in-form defender Jack Hunt and winger Ross Wallace are doubts for Wednesday’s midweek fixture.

Carvalhal’s men will be desperate to pick up three points against Brentford with two difficult fixtures coming up after that match. The Owls travel to South Wales to face Cardiff City on Saturday before a competing in a home ‘Steel City derby’ against bitter rivals Sheffield United eight days later.
