Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has been listed as an outsider to be appointed as manager of English Premier League club Crystal Palace according to the latest odds from English Football League sponsors Sky Bet.
The 49-year-old has won promotion with all of his last three clubs including current club Sheffield United who he guided to promotion from Sky Bet League One last season after ending the campaign as league champions.
Wilder’s Blades side are sitting pretty in fifth in the Sky Bet Championship table this season after winning four of their first six matches and the United boss has been listed as an outsider for the Crystal Palace manager’s job should The Eagles opt to sack manager Frank de Boer.
Dutchman de Boer was appointed Palace boss in the summer however the South London club have had a disastrous start to the season in which they have lost all four league matches and have failed to score in the process.
Speculation is mounting that The Eagles could sack de Boer this week and English Football League sponsors Sky Bet have listed Sheffield United boss Wilder as a 16/1 outsider for the potential job with former England manager Roy Hodgson being the favourite for the role.
Wilder has taken charge of Sheffield United on 60 occasions, winning 37 of those matches (61.7% win rate).
